The XRI Wizard is the easiest and preferred way to set up an XRI. It allows you to configure it for the most commons settings and uses. For instance, it lets you define a default forwarding (i.e. an address where people will normally be taken to when they resolve your XRI). You can enable your contact page, configure additional forwardings and set up your OpenID Authentication settings in the wizard.

Technically speaking, the wizard creates both the necessary i-services and appropriate service endpoints for the authority of your XRI. When the wizard is executed, all existing settings of your XRI will be overwritten, which can help you reset your XRI to a default setup if you made any mistakes in the advanced configuration panels.
