=search

Introduction

=search is an experimental feature on our site. Normally, XRIs resolve to static target URIs, e.g. @freeXRI resolves to http://www.freexri.com. Sometimes XRIs resolve to i-service endpoints such as a Contact Page; but the outcome of the resolution process is always predictable.

Now what we are exploring is "dynamic resolution", i.e. resolution based on factors other than static XRI configuration. In the case of =search, any community i-name you append is used as a query to the Google search engine, and the outcome of the resolution process will be the first search result (think of Google's "I am feeling lucky" feature).
