These tools are general-purpose XRI utilities independent of the free XRIs you can register at our site. You can use them with any XRI which may or may not be provided by @freeXRI. This is only an overview; more information is available in our documentation.
The XRI Inspector breaks down your XRI into its subcomponents and displays its normalized forms. It does not perform any resolution on it.
XRI Ping may be used for a quick check. It tells you if an XRI is valid and to what service it resolves. This tool is the best way to tell what happens when someone accesses your XRI in an XRI-enabled browser.
XRI Traceroute shows you information about every single step of the XRI resolution process, including the final service endpoint selection. It displays the individual subsegments, authorities and time in milliseconds, as well as trust and reference information, if available.
If overall resolution fails, the successful steps are still shown, with an error message at the end.
XRI Resolution gives you full control over the resolution process. You can specify what kind of results you want and in which format. You can optionally even specify an external proxy to carry out the resolution.
